How can I apply for a research degree (PhD/MPhil)?

PhD/MPhil applicants should be able to identify, before submitting their application form:

-specific area of research
-appropriate department within our University to deal with their proposal
-mode of study (f/t, p/t, university or work based)
-project sponsor to which they will be applying

Funding:

Funding supplied by Abertay University is very rare; when available it is usually advertised via our website.  Please also refer to either the British Council website or to your nearest library/careers service for guidance

Duration (full-time):
PhD – 2 years (min), 4 years (max)
MPhil – 1.5 years (min), 3 years (max)

*Double these figures for part-time study*

Fees:

refer to our website for Home and Overseas fees

there are no dis/advantages between full and part-time modes of study and our tuition fees reflect this

Number of places available is dependent upon:

-sufficient interest in the research proposal
-sufficient UAD staff to undertake supervision
-sufficient facilities to accommodate research
